The present study aimed to carry out an integrative review of works that compared the use of two European consensus on sarcopenia (EWGSOP- European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People, published in 2010 and 2019- EWGSOP-2). This is a bibliographic survey carried out through a search in the PubMed database, with a filter for studies carried out from 2019 with the main search word EWGSOP. Both consensus are intended to diagnose sarcopenia in the elderly with adequate sensitivity and specificity. The comparison of studies indicated that the use of EWGSOP2 diagnoses fewer cases of sarcopenia when compared to EWGSOP, with the main factor responsible for the initial screening for probable sarcopenia to be performed by assessing the strength of handgrip. The studies reiterate the need for further investigation between the two consensus.
