The level of physical activity of children and adolescents with physical disabilities is lower than children without disabilities and may be related to their motor impairment. Participation in these activities can have an impact on quality of life. The objective of this study was to compare the level of physical activity and quality of life of children and adolescents with physical disabilities in relation to age, sex and diagnosis. Twenty-one children and adolescents with physical disabilities, aged between 8 and 18 years old, enrolled in a regular school, and their parents participated. Standardized instruments were used: Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children (PAQ-C), Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents (PAQ-A) and KIDSCREEN-52 answer version by children/adolescents and answer version by parents. Nonparametric tests were performed for statistical analysis. Statistically significant data were found for some dimensions of quality of life: 1) related to sex: “self-perception” according to the opinion of parents/guardians; 2) related to age: “self-perception” in self-report, “feelings”, “self-perception”, “friends and social support”, “school environment” from the parents/guardians’ perspective, and in the general analysis of quality of life both in the self-report and in the version of the parents/guardians; 3) related to the diagnosis: “self-perception” in the version of children/adolescents and in the version of parents/guardians. It is concluded that children and adolescents with physical disabilities have low levels of physical activity and average levels of perception of quality of life, and children/adolescents with physical disabilities have a better perception of their quality of life than their parents/guardians.
